Dr. Dimitris Kanellopoulos is a member of the Educational Software Development Laboratory (ESD Lab) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Patras, Greece. He received a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras. Since 1990, he has been a research assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras and involved in several EU R&D projects. His research interests include multimedia networks, TCP variants for congestion control, wireless ad-hoc networks, and IoT.

He has edited two books on "Multimedia Networking" (published by IGI Global). He serves as an Associate Editor of Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences (HCIS) [IF:5.90]. He also serves as an Editorial board member in some refereed journals such as Informatica. He is an Editorial Board Member for the section 'Electronic Multimedia' in Electronics (MDPI), and a topic Editor in Sensors (MDPI) [IF: 3.275] and Electronics (MDPI) [IF: 2.412].  He is a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Multimedia Communications.
      Dimitris has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences. His research has been published in renowned journals such as Journal of Network and Computer Applications (Elsevier), Computers and Electrical Engineering (Elsevier), ICT Express (Elsevier), Journal of Information Security and Applications (Elsevier), Journal of Network and Systems Management (Springer), Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer), Electronic Commerce Research (Springer), IETE Technical Review (Taylor & Francis), Electronics (MDPI), Symmetry (MDPI), IEEE Transactions on Education, Information Discovery and Delivery (Emerald), Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, Informatica, Journal of Enterprise Information Management (Emerald), and The Electronic Library (Emerald).
